I attended law school with the specific purpose of practicing criminal defense, and that is exactly what I have done for the past 8 years. My criminal experience runs the gamut of the court system since I have practiced at every level, from the circuit and appellate courts straight up to the Illinois Supreme Court. I have argued countless motions to successful outcomes, ranging from suppression of evidence to outright dismissal. And, as a public defender (by choice) for years, I have handled numerous bench and jury trials. Not to brag, but my jury trial record is undefeated.

I leave absolutely no stone unturned, nor do I shy away from doing the heavy lifting and researching and crafting novel arguments. One of my original arguments, heard by the Illinois Supreme Court, created new law and enhanced 4th Amendment search and seizure protections. This is something that benefits all Illinois residents. This is a big deal.

I am a passionate advocate and true fighter, not only for my clients, but for the cause of justice and fair proceedings. Passions outside of my career include, nature and wildlife, birding, travel, pets, adventures and salsa dancing.
